1. Emotionally Intelligent Leadership
AM What is Emotionally Intelligent
Leadership?
Participants are introduced to an emotionally intelligent model
of leadership and compare it to other contemporary models and
notions: what do we mean when we use "buzz" words and
phrases such as mission/vision, alignment, motivation, and so
on? The morning focuses on what Daniel Goleman, who coined the
term Emotional Intelligence, defines as the "hard core" of
soft skills.
PM: Wine/Cava Tour and Tasting
Catalonia is home to several innovative an exclusive Catalan wines and champagnes
or cava, as it's known locally. This excursion takes you from Barcelona on
a private wine tour and wine tasting in local cellars located in the beautiful
world renowned Penedès wine country just south of Barcelona. A catered
meal of Catalan food is prepared and served to you in the wine cellar as you
enjoy extensive cavaand wine tasting on this great excursion in El Penedès
wine country.
2. Leadership and Chamber Music
AM: A truly inspirational experience.
Through a day spent with
a sophisticated chamber music ensemble, a team of executives
can gain an unforgettable insight into high-level team functioning.
The real meaning of leadership, collaboration, communication,
synergy and even strategy are revealed through comparing the
working methods of a group of highly-skilled musicians with those
of a professional business team. Through music, teams can achieve
a level of understanding that goes beyond what can be described
in words.
PM: (early evening) Sightseeing Treasure Hunt around Barcelona
This
is an excellent activity for groups who do not have much (or
any) time to dedicate to seeing the sights in Barcelona. The
Treasure Hunt involves different people going to separate emblematic
locations in Barcelona, taking digital pictures, buying samples
of local traditional fare, and presenting their adventures to
the rest of the group upon their return. A great way of "seeing" more
of Barcelona in 3 hours than you had bargained for!
3. Stress Management Training
AM: Managing emotions
This morning is dedicated to raising awareness of the
negative effects that stress has on our performance at work and
on exactly how it undermines our physical wellbeing. We introduce
the notion of "Optimum" stress levels and explore how
managing our emotions more effectively alleviates stress and
improves our performance at work.
PM: Some practising
You
will be introduced to meditation, to how to give a head massage,
as well as to the rudiments of belly-dancing!
